Stop Female Genital Mutilation in
Africa by 20...
Right (sarcastically).
That will soon be the slogan followed by
ellipsis, dished out to us by the unenlightened African oligarchy, on what we
need to do to stop FGM on the continent. This so-called message by the way, will
come has a rallying cry by the continent, in regards to what it needs to do in
order to maintain the equality of both sexes in society (I, Bankole Christopher
Smart-cole, rather say “all sexes”, but why I’ve chosen to redact that today is
a whole other topic for another day). Furthermore, thereof will and should state
that FGM is the violation of the rights of young women to live liberal in a
democratic society.
Right, again.
But how can one live freely in such a
continent whereby the social/ economic infrastructures for democracy, let alone
anything else, don’t already exist? How can one (in particular, these young
girls) claim, strive, and then thrive for their rights, when they don’t even have a working
constitution to uphold the aforementioned for them?
Right (truly this time).
Ergo, if all is fact and not fiction,
then doesn’t that signify that this particular activity in this particular continent,
can’t be extinguished any time soon???
